Roman StobnickiBergen Community College student Roman Stobnicki is studying business to pursue a career in architecture.

Stobnicki was interested in planning for his future, so he attended Bergen because he was offered the NJ Stars scholarship and program. “I chose the NJ Stars program at Bergen so I can give more time to focus on my studies rather than working to pay for it,” said Stobnicki who plans to attend a 4-year college. “I hope to accomplish success and clarity in my future career without having to dread paying off loans.”

When asked what has made him successful at Bergen, he cites the people and resources that are available to him. “Without the faculty helping me with questions that arise during and in preparation for the semester, I would not be where I am today,” he said. Reflecting on the people on campus, Stobnicki describes the community as “welcoming and always able to lend a hand,” which is what helps him do better.

Stobnicki is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, the Judith K. Winn School of Honors, and the fashion club. He said, “Making friends and meeting people who share the same ambition as me, helps push me and help push others to achieve greatness.”

He expects to graduate in 2026.
