PARAMUS, N.J. – The Bergenstages theatre troupe will present “Twelve Angry Jurors,” – originally written by Reginald Rose as “Twelve Angry Men” – the story about ordinary citizens’ deliberations during a murder trial this month at Bergen Community College. Directed by Professor Jared Saltzman, performances begin Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ender Hall Lab Theatre at the College main campus, 400 Paramus Road.

Adapted by Sherman L. Sergel, the story takes place on a summer day where a jury must decide the fate of a 19-year-old man accused of murdering his father. The jury votes 11-1 in favor of a guilty verdict, but United States laws require a unanimous vote by all 12 jurors in order to pass judgment. Tempers flare as the 11 jurors try their best to convince the lone dissenter to come to their side.

Performances run Friday, Feb. 25; Saturday, Feb. 26; Thursday, March 3; Friday, March 4; and Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 26 and March 5, matinee performances will take place at 2 p.m.

General tickets are $15, with discounts offered to senior citizens ($10) and Bergen faculty and staff ($10) and students ($5). To purchase tickets, please call at (201) 447-7428 or visit tickets.bergen.edu.
