Bergen Community College welcomes students visiting from other institutions to enroll in our Non-Degree program and register for Winter and Summer courses.
Students are expected to meet prerequisites and other requirements as stipulated
Step 1: Complete Admissions Application
- Processing Time: STEP 1 may take up to 24 hours to process (Monitor email).
- Once an application is submitted, instructions will be sent to the applicant via the email as submitted on the application.
- If you have taken classes as a visiting student in the past, you will still need to re-apply as a non-degree student to re-activate your account.
- Students applying will receive an email with their username and ID. The email will also include instructions on completing the Non-Degree Acknowledgment Form.

Step 2: Complete the Non-Degree Acknowledgement Form
- Processing Time: STEP 2 may take up to 1 hour to process and requires STEP 1 to be completed.
- To ensure clarity regarding your enrollment status and future goals, it is required that you complete the Non-Degree Acknowledgement Form.
- This mandatory form confirms your understanding that your current registration is for non-degree coursework only.
- Complete the Non-Degree Acknowledgement Form once you have received the Bergen credentials.

- Current degree seeking students at Bergen Community College moving from degree-seeking to Non-Degree must be in good academic standing.
- Non-Degree students will be subject to Academic Standing requirements as stipulated in the College Catalog.
- Students are expected to meet prerequisites and other requirements as stipulated in the College Catalog and Course Syllabus.
- Students visiting from another institution are responsible to ensure that their home institution will accept courses taken at Bergen Community College. Visiting students are strongly encouraged to review their home institutions catalog for possible transfer credit restrictions.
- Students may use the Add/Drop period to determine their ability to be successful.
- Students enrolled as Non-Degree are expected to adhere to Registration Calendar.
- Students will follow the refund policies as stated on the Registration Calendar.

Completed Coursework Credential and Degree Pursuit Option
Simply completing non-degree coursework does not constitute an application for a degree program, nor does it guarantee admission.

If you intend to transition to a formal academic degree program of study (degree or certificate) you MUST submit a separate, formal admissions application through the Admissions Office.
