Bergen Community College student Charlotte Farley is majoring in Women’s and Gender Studies because it is what she is most passionate about.
“Documented history has only ever really been portrayed in a man’s perspective and this course of study seeks to change that,” said Farley.
“I chose Bergen Community College because of the number of opportunities,” said Farley. “It’s more affordable, and I have heard from many of my past teachers that it’s just as great of a school (if not better) as other local colleges.”
Armed with the advice of her past teachers, she decided to attend Bergen for her first two years of college. Farley feels that what has helped her is getting to know other students at Bergen.
When asked what has made her successful at Bergen, Farley cited her study habits, which have helped her handle the workload in college. “Studying more than I did in high school has helped me at Bergen Community College,” she said.
She expects to graduate in 2025.
Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 13,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
