Special Interests: Literacy, Theatre (Acting), Spirituality and Church Community Activities, Pet Adoption and the Protection of Animals, Felines, Travel, Arts and Crafts, etc.
Philosophy of Teaching: Adoption of an active learning approach that focuses on strengthening reading, writing and especially critical thinking skills should be the goal of a student who wishes to be an independent learner. My goal, as instructor, is to help guide them in this direction, inspire the life long learning process and fill their “educational toolbox.”
Year Started at Bergen: 1990 for adjunct; 1994 fulltime; tenured in 1999
Community work: Volunteer for various county food banks; also active in community theater, including acting, directing with BergenStages; on the Board of Skyline Theatre Company, a professional theatre company in Bergen County.
Hobbies: Reading everywhere – my apartment, the mountains, the shore.
