Dania Huie-PasiganBergen Community College Associate Director of Health Services and College nurse, Dania Huie-Pasigan, oversees the strategic development and implementation of the campus health and wellness program.

“I was drawn to Bergen by the opportunity to integrate my clinical expertise with a leadership role that directly impacts the health and success of our diverse campus population,” said Huie-Pasigan who joined Bergen in 2014. “I am inspired daily by the College’s dedication to providing accessible, high-quality resources that empower both current students and the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

Huie-Pasigan has taken care of hundreds of students, faculty, and staff at Bergen over the years and has positively impacted the experiences of many students.

“What I enjoy most about my role at Bergen is the opportunity to build genuine connections with our diverse students and staff while providing them with the education they need to thrive,” said Huie-Pasigan. “I find it incredibly rewarding to serve as a resource for our community, fostering an environment where health and learning go hand in hand.”

Although she manages departmental budgets, ensures compliance with primary healthcare standards, and leads emergency preparedness and response initiatives for the College community, Huie-Pasigan also serves as an adjunct nursing faculty member. She is dedicated to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.

“I am passionate about teaching because it allows me to translate my years of experience into meaningful lessons for the next generation of healthcare leaders,” said Huie-Pasigan. “My goal is to inspire my students with the same love for nursing that has driven my career, ensuring they are prepared to serve our community with excellence.”

She currently provides clinical instruction and mentorship to Level 1 nursing students at Bergen. With her extensive clinical background in high acuity pediatric care the public health, Huie-Pasigan’s instruction bridges the gap between academic theory and practical patient care.

Deeply engaged in community health, Huie-Pasigan serves as a Per Diem Public Health Nurse for the Bergenfield Health Department. Her professional practice is characterized by a commitment to health promotion, community outreach, and the advancement of nursing excellence.

In 2025, Huie-Pasigan was recognized with the Outstanding Service Award by Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Bergen County Board of Commissioners in recognition of Caribbean-American Heritage Month. This award celebrated and honored her significant contributions to the College community and her dedication to public health.

Huie-Pasigan earned her Master of Science in nursing degree from Grand Canyon University in 2025 and her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in 1997.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 24,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
