Felistas Kwoba

Bergen Community College student Felistas Kwoba is studying engineering science to become a software engineer or data scientist.

I chose Bergen Community College because of its quality education, affordable tuition and excellent faculty,” said Kwoba.

Kwoba, of Englewood Cliffs, was one of 10 student interns in the inaugural data analyst program under the College’s Bergen for Business workforce development initiative. Through the program, she obtained hands-on experience and knowledge in data analytics.

“Being part of the data analyst program has enabled me to improve and advance my skills in Microsoft Excel,” said Kwoba. “Hence, it will enable me to smoothly transition into the data analytics field in the future.”

She also attributed her success to support from Professor Jake Dynes. According to Kwoba, Professor Dynes helped her develop her mathematical skills and ignite her passion for the subject. “The experience so far is encouraging me to be a better student,” said Kwoba.

Kwoba expects to graduate by 2026.
