Bergen Community College alumnus Jaykson Metaute, ‘23, pursued an associate degree in professional studies for a career as a physical therapist. As a student athlete, Metaute played soccer for Bergen’s men’s soccer team. He was a student in the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program and a student worker in the Office of Student Life.
“I chose Bergen because of how well kept the campus looks, the fact that it has a soccer team, and that it is not so far from home,” said Metaute.
When asked what has made him successful at Bergen, Metaute cited his involvement as a student worker in the Office of Student Life, playing on the soccer team, and being a part of the EOF program, which has led him to make “connections with different people, both students and staff.” Metaute felt that the people he met were “very friendly” and the staff were “very helpful and attentive.”
“Getting involved is what helped me enjoy my experience at Bergen Community College and become a successful student,” said Metaute.
He graduated from Bergen in December 2023 and is currently attending William Paterson University.
