Bergen Community College student Ramil Pere Acosta is studying natural sciences to become a doctor. He is a member of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program, the Latin American Student Association (LASA), and is an altar server at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church. When asked what has made him successful at Bergen, he credited “the professors, the people, and God.” He said, “I came here with nothing but I’m not leaving empty handed because this experience will live with me always.” He expects to graduate in 2024.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 13,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst.
