young Ceconi at her deskDr. Ceconi graduated from Westchester Community College in May of 1983 with an Associate’s Degree in Allied Health and Science in Respiratory Therapy. While attending this program, she worked as a Respiratory Technician full-time at Nyack Hospital. She then graduated from Pace University in White Plains in June of 1986 with a BA degree in Professional Studies (Business Management).

Dr. Ceconi began her teaching career in September 1987 as a laboratory and clinical instructor at Rockland Community College. In September 1992, she entered the MA of Adult Health Professions Education program at Seton Hall-UMDNJ in Newark. She graduated with honors from this program in May of 1995. Dr. Ceconi graduated with a Ph.D. in Health Professions Leadership from the Seton Hall University Graduate Program in Health Sciences in May 2006. Her area of research was in problem-based learning in a Respiratory Therapy Program.

Her employment history also includes working as a part-time home care therapist for seven years at Respiratory Care Plus in Valley Cottage, NY. In addition, she has held per-diem positions at both Helen Hayes Hospital in Haverstraw NY and Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.

She was employed as the Clinical Coordinator of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Norwalk Community Technical College from 1994 through 1996. Presently, Dr.Ceconi is Program Director and Academic Department Chair of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Bergen Community College. Her teaching responsibilities include the areas of acute care, mechanical ventilation, neonatal pediatrics, clinical medicine, and the Introductory course in Respiratory Care.

Dr. Ceconi has published articles in the AARC Times and the AARC Education Annual.
