Dr. Anthony D. Yankowski is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Bergen Community College and a practicing clinical psychologist. He holds his doctoral degree from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. As part of his dissertation research, he examined the correlates related to risky sexual behavior in gay and bisexual men. He is an advisor to the Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology at Bergen Community College and teaches in the Judith K. Winn School of Honors. His clinical work centers on providing individual and group therapy for adults who are intellectually and developmentally disabled. As a long-time advocate for innovative technology in the classroom, he has developed numerous online and hybrid courses in psychology. This proved crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was designated a distance learning fellow and helped faculty transition their on-campus courses to online modalities. Dr. Yankowski was selected as a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) award recipient in 2023 for excellence in teaching. He recently completed authorship of a contribution to all McGraw Hill Introduction to Psychology textbooks titled “Beyond Binary,” delving into the psychological factors related to gender, gender identity, gender dysphoria, and transphobia.
