Application Process

Program Eligibility Criteria

To receive Center for Adult Transition services, students must:

  • Be between the ages of 18–24 and have a well-documented intellectual or developmental disability;
  • Display the inner motivation to attend the Center for Adult Transition program and be a part of Bergen Community College’s thriving campus community;
  • Display the social, emotional, and behavioral skills needed to appropriately participate in the program to which they are applying;
  • Be open to accepting and applying feedback in order to improve their performance;
  • Have the potential to attain personal, post-secondary education, and employment goals within the Center for Adult Transition program’s context and framework.

  1. The Recommendation Form is to be completed by a non-family member who has known the applicant for one or more years.
  2. The completed Student Application AND letters of recommendation must be submitted in one packet.
