The Disability Alliance Fellowship (DAF) is dedicated to fostering a culture of belonging for all members of our campus community.
Our student fellows develop vital peer advocacy and leadership skills while creating inclusive opportunities across campus.

The Role of the Disability Alliance Fellow 

Campus Wide Change Makers 

Fellows strive to cultivate welcoming spaces where students have opportunities for meaningful peer connections.
In collaboration with student organizations and campus departments,  fellows plan and co-sponsor college events.

Fellows as Individual and Small Group Mentors

Disability Alliance Fellows serve as mentors who support students with the college transition process in various ways, including :

  • Guidance navigating campus resources
  • Connecting with campus support services
  • Serving as liaisons to clubs and college events
  • Building self-advocacy skills

Training & Development

Our fellows receive ongoing supervision and engage in specialized training covering:

  • Disability history and advocacy
  • Designing effective, lasting change
  • Creating welcoming environments
  • Person-centered thinking
  • Fostering independence
