PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College, the state’s No. 1 institution for associate degree graduates two years in a row, will offer special Saturday hours this month for students seeking to finalize their fall schedules. Classes begin Thursday, Sept. 1.

Representatives from registration, financial aid, admissions, advising and the bursar will be available Saturday, Aug. 20 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the College’s main campus, 400 Paramus Road. Regular hours continue Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at both the main campus and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands, 1280 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst.

Bergen, which received praise in 48 specific areas during its recent accreditation evaluation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, will also offer two “flex-start” options for students this fall. Those semesters begin Sept. 21 and Oct. 26 at Bergen’s three locations: the main campus, the Meadowlands and the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center, 355 Main Street, Hackensack.

For more information on registering for classes, visit www.bergen.edu/registration.

Additionally this fall, Bergen will launch a weekend college program that will enable students to earn an associate of science degree in two years through classes taken exclusively on Saturdays, Sundays and online. For more information on the program, email [email protected].

Also in September, students enrolled in nursing, dental hygiene and other healthcare fields will have the opportunity to take classes in the $26 million Health Professions Integrated Teaching Center, which opened May 17. The 63,000 square-foot facility represents Bergen’s project as part of the voter-approved Building Our Future Bond Act and the first new free-standing building opened at Bergen’s main campus since 2007.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls 15,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
