PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College will continue its “Cinema Ciccone” silent film series with two performances in April. The films will also include live music accompaniment by Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton and Academy Award-nominated film score composer John La Barbera, who each completed new scores for the films. Both performances will take place in the College’s Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre located at 400 Paramus Road.

The series opens Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. with Regeneration (1915), directed by Raoul Walsh (High Sierra, White Heat, The Naked and the Dead) and starring Rockliffe Fellowes and Anna Nilsson, features at orphan’s story of wrongdoing and redemption. Underworld (1927) follows Saturday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m., telling the story of gangster kingpin Bull Weed. Directed by Josef Von Sternberg (The Blue Angel, Crime and Punishment, The Docks of New York), the film stars Clive Brook, George Bancroft and Evelyn Brent.

Ciccone Theatre patrons receive complimentary admission to the events, but a suggested $10 donation to the Ciccone Theatre Fund helps support the arts at Bergen. Visit tickets.bergen.edu to secure seats.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 13,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst.
