PARAMUS, N.J. – Coinciding with Veterans Day, Combat Paper NJ and Bergen Community College’s Gallery Bergen will join forces to feature the art of military veterans in an upcoming exhibition. Combat Paper NJ representatives will sponsor a weeklong series of workshops – Monday, Nov. 10 to Friday, Nov. 14 at the College’s main campus – open to all local veterans seeking to participate and provide art for the exhibition. Workshops will feature Combat Paper NJ’s signature process of turning former military uniforms into paper, providing a canvas for artistic expression.

PARAMUS, N.J. – Officials from Bergen Community College and the Bergen County Technical Schools have signed an agreement establishing a technology high school program residing at the College’s main campus. The inaugural class of approximately 20 ninth-grade students will enter the Applied Technology High School in September 2015. This four-year high school program will allow students to earn college credits that can be applied toward an associate degree at Bergen. This associate degree will enable students to enter the workforce as engineering support technologists, or matriculate to a four-year college to earn a B.S. degree in a related engineering or technology field. Hands-on technological training experiences, internships, and an industry-recognized certification will complement the academic curriculum.

LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Bergen Community College Alumni Network recognized the contributions of three alumni – including two College staff members – and one member of the faculty at the fifth annual alumni dinner Oct. 9. The event, held for the first time at Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands, located at 1280 Wall Street West, honored (from left): Honors Alumni Network Founder Steven Chung (‘12), of Bayside, N.Y., with the Dr. Judith K. Winn School of Honors Outstanding Alumni Award; Assistant to the Athletic Director Elaine Korinko (‘79), of North Haledon, with the Alumni Hall of Fame Award; Vice President of Facilities Planning, Operations and Public Safety William Corcoran (‘76), of Ridgewood, with the Living Legacy Award; and Associate Professor Joseph Sivo, Ph.D., of Fair Lawn, with the Rising Star Award. Bergen’s alumni outreach aims to reconnect graduates with the College through special events, career services and ambassadorship. More than 48,500 students have graduated from Bergen since its 1965 inception.
