Bergen Community College recognized Bergen alumnus and faculty member, Sharon Mancini, on International Nurses Day (May 12, 2021). Mancini said, “In 1986, Bergen Community College offered me the starting point on a career in nursing that has now spanned over 30 years, in various staff positions, leadership roles, and ultimately a private practice. I currently hold dual certifications as a Nephrology Nurse and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Since 2018, I have been teaching Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Bergen Community College. I am forever grateful for the standards, the commitment to excellence, and the compassion that was fostered in my early days as a student and now is being passed on to our future nurses as their professor.”
