Bergen Community College Description

  • Bergen Community College is a comprehensive, publicly supported two-year college that is fully accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  The College is also a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) certified by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).  Through its open admissions policy, the College is committed to equal educational opportunities for all. Over 11,000 students enroll in more than 90 degree and certificate programs through day, evening, and on-line opportunities. An additional 6,000 students are involved in professional development, continuing education, welfare-to-work, English as a Second Language, and personal development programs on the Paramus campus as well as at the College’s Ciarco Learning Center in Hackensack, NJ. The College’s instructional programs are designed to prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities or immediate entry into a career. Noncredit courses are offered for those seeking personal enrichment or improvement of specific skills. Special populations include students with disabilities who comprise approximately 7% of the student body.
