Bergen Community College alumni will sample fare from the Dog & Cask.

PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College alumni are invited to raise a glass as they network at the first “Oktoberfest” sponsored by the “Bulldog Professionals” of the institution’s nonprofit foundation.

The event, open to Bergen graduates aged 21 years and above and organized by the Bergen Community College Foundation, will take place at the Dog & Cask craft pub and restaurant in Rochelle Park Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. Featuring networking, appetizers and drinks, tickets are $40 and available by calling (201) 447-7117 or visiting tiny.cc/bergenoktoberfest.

In recent years, more Bergen alumni have entered four-year colleges and the workforce than at any time in its history. For three consecutive years, Bergen has led the state in the number of associate degree graduates. Alumni have also found success in the workplace – data from the online compensation database PayScale show Bergen graduates holding associate degrees rank No. 11 in the U.S. for mid-career earnings with an average salary of $65,500.

The Bergen Community College Foundation raises funds to support student scholarships, faculty and staff development, construction and other special projects and programs for continuing the tradition of excellence in education provided by the College.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls 15,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
