PARAMUS, N.J. – It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s … runners dressed as their favorite caped crusaders at the inaugural “Hero 5K Run” at Bergen Community College Oct. 23. Organized by the Bergen Community College Foundation and the institution’s Department of Wellness and Exercise Science, more than 150 participants helped raise approximately $15,000 for the College’s veterans and students. The Foundation raises funds to support student scholarships, faculty and staff development, construction and other special projects and programs for continuing the tradition of excellence in education provided by the College.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls 15,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
