Executive Assistant to the Board of Trustees and President
Mrs. Ferrara joined Bergen Community College in July 2013. Prior to joining the College, Mrs. Ferrara was an employee of Hoffmann-La Roche in Nutley, supporting the biometrics department for 14 years and the quality assurance department for nine years with increasing levels of responsibility.
Mrs. Ferrara holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, and was the recipient of the “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges;” the Academic Dean’s Award for the Samuel J. Silberman College of Business Administration; and National Honor Society in Business Administration.
The Association of Community College Trustees has also selected Bergen Community College Executive Assistant to the Board of Trustees and President Maria Ferrara to receive the 2024 “Professional Board Staff Member – Northeast Region” award. The honor recognizes the top board support professional working at one of the hundreds of community colleges in the northeastern United States. Bergen Board of Trustees Chair Dorothy Blakeslee nominated Ferrara for the honor.
