What is the Pre-Apprenticeship in Career Education (PACE) Grant?
The PACE Grant, provided by the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development, supports the ESL to Health Professions Training and EKG/Phlebotomy Certification Programs. NOTE: This program is available at no cost for eligible participants.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the PACE program, you must be a U.S. citizen, legal resident, or holder of a U.S. working visa. If you do not have this information, you cannot apply to this program.
Program Outline:
ESL for Health Professions – Medical Terminology
This program requires ESL for Health Professions training, preparing students with the medical language skills needed to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals and excel in the field.
EKG Certification
An EKG technician performs and interprets electrocardiograms to monitor heart activity and diagnose heart conditions. They handle equipment, analyze results, and prepare reports for doctors, often working in hospitals or clinics.
Phlebotomy Certification
A Certified Phlebotomist is a trained healthcare professional who draws blood for tests, donations, transfusions, or research. They ensure blood is collected accurately and safely, playing a key role in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.
Class Dates and Times
March 10th, 2025 – May 22, 2025: Day classes taught between 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
May 1, 2025 – July 17, 2025: Evening classes taught between 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
